In 2016, his single Human brought him to international attention and since then he has released a string of hits, including Giant with Calvin Harris and Anywhere Away From Here with Pink. However, a few years ago, he had an ordeal that may have drastically affected his career.

Rag’n’Bone Man went deaf in his ear ‘for two weeks’

Amidst the pandemic in December 2020, Rag’n’Bone Man told fans he had gone deaf in his left ear due to an infection. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Lost my hearing on my left side for 2 weeks due to a mad infection. That s*** got scary!!”

The celebrity didn’t specify what the “mad infection” was, though it must have been quite awful if he lost his hearing. According to Healthline, impaired hearing with an ear infection is fairly common.

Their website states: “Ear infections can sometimes cause hearing loss. This is due to inflammation and fluid buildup in the area behind the eardrum. Hearing loss from an ear infection is usually temporary. Once the ear infection starts to clear up, you’ll likely find that your hearing will begin to improve.”

Fans were quick to send support to Rag’n’Bone Man and told him they hoped he’d have a speedy recovery.

Someone else wrote: “Ah man been there done that 3 times, lost it in both after one bad infection and even after 2 weeks it wasn’t back properly and I’ve had issues ever since and an op. Hope ur better soon and all is ok [blowing kiss emoji].”
